Travis Tober, the visionary behind Nickel City's ode to blue-collar bars, is back with a new venture, Murray’s Tavern, a nostalgic New York-style eatery and bar. Teaming up with chef Nick Yanes of Juniper and Uncle Nicky’s fame, they're set to open their doors at 2316 Webberville Road, formerly Gourmands Neighborhood Pub.

The menu, curated by Yanes, pays homage to classic New York tavern fare, featuring staples like oysters Rockefeller, pancetta, and corn chowder in a delightful bread bowl nodding to Gourmands, a mouthwatering beef and cheddar sandwich, a cast-iron burger, and a pasta highlight – tagliatelle with butter, black truffle, and aged Parmesan.

Named after Tober's grandmother, Murray's Tavern promises a trip down memory lane with her favorite cocktails – the Rob Roy and Brandy Alexander. Additionally, indulge in four classic cocktails inspired by the heart of NYC, a selection of "mini" cocktails, signature house cocktails, and a nightcap menu for after-dinner delights. Collaborating with Murray’s operating partner, Brett Esler, a seasoned pro from Hestia and Whisler’s, Tober envisions a space that encapsulates the charm of old-school taverns.

Tober reflects, "Nickel City emerged as a tribute to my grandpa, while Murray's was inspired by my grandmother, creating a place that transports you back to old-school taverns.” Get ready to immerse yourself in warm wood finishes, dim romantic lighting, and the rich aroma of Murray's Tavern.

Opening its doors from 3 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Wednesday and extending the vibe until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, Murray’s Tavern plans to introduce lunch hours early next year.
